Hi! This summer, my wife Sam and I accepted an unusual invitation: serving as volunteer Forest Service rangers in Montana. We'll be found around Rock Creek, in Lolo National Forest.

I'm not leaving UC Davis, however – I've reduced my appointment, but will be continuing to work via satellite. The aim of this page is to give you a sense of how to reach me, and what to expect.

Specific dates may vary depending on approved vacation usage
Schedule Shift
To accommodate ranger duties, my "weekend" has moved to Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The upside for you? I’m now online and available for support on Saturdays and Sundays.
Core Duties
I'll be continuing to support the same functions in the department, so please feel welcome to write about "the usual"!
Supervision
Monica has graciously stepped in to handle in-person supervision while I'm away; please ensure she's copied on any inquiries concerning HR/AP/Grad team in-person matters.

Staying In Touch

Phone / Zoom

I can still chat via phone and Zoom, but we’ll need to schedule a time via email first so that I can ensure the internet is live.

Email

Email remains a great way to contact me! I expect to be maintaining the same response times.

In-Person

I welcome in-person meetings! The closest airport is in Missoula. I recommend renting a high-clearance vehicle, but can offer lodging!

Although I trust that the quality and quantity of my work won't vary while I'm away, I'm grateful for your forbearance with the "curiosities" of this arrangement. Please reach out with any questions!

See ya out there!
